[Repost] Martini Moments. Featuring “A Night Like This” by Caro Emerald. I can’t get my mind off the song. It’s way too catchy and although i’m not a die-hard fan of Jazz. Man, i’m kinda like way behind when it comes to music these days and really don’t chase it as much, but i love this song and the artist.
Caro Emerald is a new artist and that’s her stage name. Her real name is Caroline Van Der Leeuw and she’s from Amsterdam, Netherlands (where my ancestors are from). I must say, she really does have a seductive and sultry voice. Silly me, i’ve just spent the last few weeks since i posted the Martini Moments ad (5 Nov 09) and only started to actively hunt her work down. The song featured there is “A Night Like This” and she is the featured - the band in the TVC towards the end. LOVES IT.
That wasn’t her smash hit though. Apparently, her smash hit was “Back it Up” which was on the Dutch Top 40 hits for 12 weeks! Her single was released on 6 July 09. It was even remixed by the popular Kraak & Smaak from Leiden, Netherlands. She’s so new she only just finished recording her album, i’ve been going to shops like Gramaphone or That CD Shop in Singapore, and obviously, i ain’t finding it! Her album will feature a mix of 1950s inspired sounds like jazz and such. Her album titled “Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor”, will be released on 29 Jan 2010. I can’t wait.
