“Luck is an attitude”. - Martini.
There is no such thing as luck because you can create your own luck with the right attitude and the right state of mind. So take a chance, live a little and see where it takes you. - Martini.
You know, i’m starting to pay attention to Martini a lot now. I saw the last TVC from Netherlands “Martini Moments” and though i liked the craft of the TVC and how it was very lifestyley, i like how it kinda fit with the overall sell and the music was brilliant from Caro Emerald. I loved her voice and her song “A Night Like This”. I guess as much as i loved the craft and the music (more so), i couldn’t relate to it much, more targeted at the women and the whole Sex and the City vibe.
Now this TVC, i must say, i relate. I’m exactly that guy on the left. The pretty mundane, boring kind of a person. I love the ending how it makes me get up and go HELL TO THE YEAH! But at the same time, i see how the guy on the left had so much fun. I think it’s brilliant and again, great use of music and really love it. Luck is an attitude is going to stick!
I will take some time to talk about the music as well. Boy do i love the music, it’s strange how i’ve never invested enough time, but i love that era of jazzy music and all the music that’s inspired by that era. The Andrew Sisters were more popular back then and if you check out their discography, you kinda recognize some songs that have been remade and stuff. Just like that fantastic restaurant Bai Toey, Old Phuket Town, Kata Beach, Phuket, Thailand. That place used to place the best jazz from that era, guess they changed the music, but the food is still fab.
I could go on forever. Inspired by this one TVC. I must say however, visiting the Martini website, i’m very disappointed. This has so much legs to have so much content surrounding that big idea behind the tagline “Luck is an attitude” and sadly, all the budget went to this TVC. Kudos for great TVC, great music, fantastic idea, and okay, i’ve watched it, great. And then?
Well, nice to see great traditional TVCs still find a certain place in the world, but wish it would evolve, just that bit more. Don’t you?
